  • What is the Spanish Wells Master Association?

    • The Master Association oversees the safety and operation of all of Spanish Wells.  Working closely with the 8 sub-associations , they ensure the recorded Declarations and Amendments are followed. The Master Association is responsible for the budget, capital expenditures and appropriate reserve funds.  They also work closely with the Golf & Country Club and assist in any issues that may arise.

  • What are the phone numbers for the various services in Spanish Wells?

    • Many of the Board Members phone numbers and email addresses are located on our website​

    • Our community has contracted with Castle Group to assist in the daily operation of Spanish Wells. This organization is referred to as the Community Association Manager (CAM) The main phone number to contact the CAM is (239) 319-1288. 

    • The CAM office is staffed M-F from 9 am – 4 pm
      For any Life-Threatening emergency call 911 immediately.

    • The after-hours number for Castle Group is 800-337-5850. This would go to an operator who determines if it is an emergency and then calls our CAM

  • What are the responsibilities of the Community Association Manager (CAM)?

    • The CAM plays an active role in running the day-to-day operation of Spanish Wells, assisting with budgeting, and taking care of the common areas. The CAM is expected to exercise a type of proactive approach to changes in relevant local laws and share the information with the board. CAMs are responsible for managing Spanish Wells funds by reviewing/approving invoices promptly. The CAM also takes an active role in contract development and negations​ and is an active participant in all board meetings

  • Does Spanish Wells have committees to assist in managing the community? How can I join a committee?

    • Yes > There are numerous Committees which are listed on the website under Board Information.​  Contact any of your association Board Members and inform them you you like to participate on a specific committee

  • How do I give access to the gates to allow vendors or guests access to my home?

    • You must have a DwellingLive User ID and Password

    • All guests and vendors must be authorized by you in order to gain entry to the community. This can be accomplished by logging on to the “Spanish Wells Community Association Website” at “www.swca.biz".  Your personal “DwellingLive Dashboard” screen will then appear.  Click on “My Community”, which appears in the upper left quadrant of the screen and then select “Guest List” from the drop-down menu.  The “Guest List” screen then appears and will provide you with the options to (1) Add Guest, (2) Add Party, (3) Restrict Guest, and (4) Guest History.  Select “Add Guest” and complete the required information on the screen that next appears.  

  • Who is responsible for road maintenance within Spanish Wells.

  • How do I obtain a Bar Code for my vehicles?

    • The Spanish Wells Community Association is responsible for providing the vehicle bar code stickers which are necessary to gain automatic access through all entrance gates.  You must go to the SWCA office to apply for the barcode sticker and an owner will be charged a 25.00 fee for each bar code sticker purchase. You must have your vehicles registration form with you. Approved lease renters pay $50.00 for each barcode. You must pay by credit Card or Check!

  • What days are Garbage and Landscaping waste picked up?

    • Each sub-association has specific dates for garbage and landscaping pickup.​ If they have a website, the information may be listed there. Otherwise contact a member of your associations board.

  • Who is responsible for mailbox repair?

    • For all single or dual mailboxes on a single pole  it's the ho​me owners responsibility. If it's a community mailbox, contact a board member in your sub-association.

  • What issues do I contact a Spanish Wells Community Association board member versus the sub association board member?

    • If it's an item that concerns the whole community such as a pothole in a street, tree limb down, etc., it would be a SWCA issue. If it's something like a dog running free, overgrown lawn, etc., it would be a sub-association topic. If you are in doubt, contact the sub-association first.

  • How do I join the Golf & Country Club?  What services and fees are available/required?

    • On the website under "Resident Information" is a link for Golf & Country Information

  • Who do I contact if a street light is not working?

    • Florida Power & Light  FPL.  954-797-5000  Make sure you have the numbers on the pole when you call them or..

  • How do I obtain Internet/Phone access?

    • Summit Broadband provides voice and internet services for Spanish Wells. By clicking on the following link, you will be provided information on how to setup an account or the numbers to call for technical/support services.​

  • How do I report a DirecTV/Internet/Phone Outage?

  • What is the minimum rental period within Spanish Wells?

    • 30 Days​

  • If I have a question how do I contact the a board member?

    • Go to the website and under Board Information is an option to select "Directors and Committees. There email address is available.

  • How do I figure out if our sub association has a website?

    • Contact a board member for your association

  • What's the process to update my property (ie: paint my home, landscaping, roofs, etc)

    • All of the sub-associations have rules and regulations regarding changes to your property.  If your association has a website, the regulations may be listed there. If not, contact a board member for your specific association

  • What do I do if a Hurricane is forecast to impact Spanish Wells?

    • As a hurricane approaches our area, SWCA will publish advisories which will include recommended actions. These will depend on the projected path and intensity. You will need to watch for Constant Contact emails advising you on actions to take. You should also monitor the local TV and radio stations for updates. If you plan to evacuate, you should leave at least 48 hours prior to anticipated storm arrival. Prior to the commencement of hurricane season (June 1st) you should prepare a hurricane kit to include such items as: portable radio, flash lights, non-perishable food, water, check generator, etc.​

  • What function to all of the lakes in Spanish Wells provide?

    • The lakes serve two purposes:  They are used to store "storm runoff" and secondly, they provide water to irrigate the Golf Course.

  • What does Spanish Wells do to minimize flooding in the event of a hurricane or major storm?

    • All of the lakes in Spanish Wells​ are interconnected via various pipes.  All of the lakes eventually drain into one specific lake which is then used to move water out of Spanish Wells thought several large pumps. The pumps are computer controlled and have monitors to automatically turn on based on current conditions and rainfall rates.

  • Can I walk, run or drive on the golf course or cart paths on the golf course?

    • No  The Golf Course is private property. Walking, running, fishing, bicycling or driving your personal golf card while not registered to play golf is prohibited at any time..

  • Why are there Lee County Sheriff's cars patrolling the property and giving citations?

    • The safety of every homeowner is paramount ​in the daily lives of our residents. There are occasions where a homeowner or vendor does not follow the law.  Whether its speeding or rolling through a stop sign, it's dangerous to everyone else.  The Lee County Sheriff has been asked to monitor our streets for violations.  Citations are issued when a driver does not follow the law. The Sheriff is there to protect everyone

  • What can I do about loud noise coming from a neighbors property?
          
    The Spanish Wells Community Association Rules & Regulations specifically address this issue.   Don’t call the                Security Officer, call the Lee County Sheriff.  Non-Emergency Number   239-477-1000
